The FOSE Conference & Exposition serves government agency program and project executives, CIOs, chief technology officers, network administrators, information technology managers, engineers, purchasing and training managers seeking new and improved solutions for managing and operating civilian, defense, state and local government agencies. FOSE also serves technology and business development executives and professionals doing business with government agencies.

Focus Topics

We welcome presentation proposals that are suited to our educational foci, which include (but not limited to):

  • Enabling the Mobile Government Workforce – Harnessing mobile Web apps, social media and emerging wireless technologies for more effective government.
  • Cyber Security, Network Defense and Information Assurance – Proven tactics and technologies for protecting government information systems.
  • Next-Generation Infrastructure Strategies – Practical approaches for moving to consolidated data centers and private clouds while also supporting workers and warfighters on the move.
  • The Federal IT Agenda for 2012 and Beyond – Emerging federal productivity and IT acquisition strategies. How cloud computing, collaboration, Web apps, dashboards and other productivity tools—and tough budget choices—will redefine how IT gets done in government regardless of the upcoming election outcome.
  • Defense Innovations – What the military has learned about deploying mobile and ad-hoc networks, ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) systems, analytic and collaboration tools, and other innovations that could be applied at civilian, state and local, non-governmental and relief organizations.

12/8/2010 Deadline for Proposals – Wednesday, December 8 at 5:00pm Pacific Time. No extensions will be granted
1/14/2011 Notification for all who have submitted presentations
1/28/2011 Deadline for executed speaker agreements
6/24/2011 Deadline for all presentation materials (including PowerPoint presentations) electronically submitted.
7/1/2011 Deadline for all changes to abstract information to be included in conference materials.

Submission Guidelines

Please include the following information with your submission (Failure to supply all requested information may limit opportunities for selection):

  • Speaker’s Name
  • Speaker’s Title
  • Speaker’s Company
  • Title of Presentation
  • 100-word Description of Presentation
  • 3-5 Bullets, explaining what the attendee will learn from presentation
  • Speaker’s Color Photo (hi-resolution)
  • Speaker’s Bio, including previous conference speaking/presentation experience (150 words)

Submission Criteria

Proposals must adhere to the following criteria:

The Proposal Terms and Conditions must be checked upon submission.

To be considered, all proposals must be complete, comprehensive, and deemed relevant and timely by the conference selection committee. Complete proposals is defined as submitting information in all fields of the accompanying session form in full (including full contact information of speakers, biographies of each speaker per session, session title with abstract, and learning objectives.) Partial session submissions will not be considered.

All proposals must include clear and concise written statements of intended learning outcomes or objectives for each session. These statements must reflect what the attendees will achieve by participating in this session.

Proposals for presentations should be designed to fit into the appropriate timeslot allotted for sessions. The FOSE Conference offers 60 and 75 minute sessions, and full day post-conference workshops (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM).

All presenters will be required to sign a Speakers Agreement with FOSE. which will include granting a nonexclusive license to the copyright of written materials and may include permission to record (audio and/or video) the session.


Presenters are responsible for returning a signed and executed speaker agreement by the deadline – January 28, 2011.

Presenters agree to submit all program materials, including handouts and PowerPoint slides, electronically by June 24, 2011. Presenters will receive instructions on submitting material electronically.

If additional handouts are required for session and not submitted to by 6/24/2011 then the presenter is responsible for management and costs associated with duplication, shipping, and distribution of materials to conference attendees.


One full conference pass will be awarded per presenter. Selected speakers will not receive an honorarium and will not be reimbursed for any expenses incurred in developing content or materials for their presentation, hotel accommodations, or travel to/from the conference.

Presentation Proposal Submission Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions that apply to speaking at this event. Acceptance must be granted in order for your presentation to be considered.

  • The onsite presentation will correspond with the original session description
  • The presentation contains factual, well rounded perspectives and educational content
  • If a product is referenced in the session it is for case study purposes only and contains no sales pitch presentations
  • The presentation will be submitted for peer review and acceptance is not guaranteed
  • If not accepted, the presentation will be kept on file for future events
  • I understand that if accepted:
    • The language submitted in the presentation, including learning objectives, speaker bios, and session descriptions will be used for marketing purposes. FOSE retains the right to edit the text for printed and online programs.
    • If chosen, this presentation is not to be given at any competing conferences in the same year as FOSE in order to keep the educational program fresh.
    • My (our) session will be provided with the following A/V support—laptop computer, LCD projector, screen and microphone.
    • I (we) are responsible for uploading our session presentation and handouts to a secure website (or sending them to the Event Manager) approximately six weeks prior to the event.
